Holiday Fear List 2025 #holidayfear

When the city is quiet and you finally get to curl up in bed during the holidays to binge all the B-movies you’ve been meaning to watch… here are some of my favorite holiday scary movies!

I know the 2025 remake is out this year but the original Silent Night Deadly Night remains a classic. As Quentin Tarantino agrees, the movie spent a half-hour to set up the psychology of the killer protagonist in this truly dark classical Christmas horror picture.

Bob Clark’s 1974 classic Black Christmas is an oldie and goodie that was rumored to have sparked the slasher sub genre of modern horror.

The post-millennial Santa’s Slay is a ludicrous but well-made evil Santa horror comedy that will tickle your holiday bone!

Rare Exports is a Finnish supernatural horror feature digging deep into the origin of Santa Claus, a must if you haven’t seen it.

Better Watch Out is a fun holiday thriller that’s well-made and features a home invasion theme with a sexy babysitter twist.

Made by the people at the defunct Cannon films, New Year’s Evil still remains one effective slasher film tackling the thrill to kill for a New Year, featuring the most annoying and repetitive leitmotif of the killer screaming “New Year’s Evil!” to the audience.
