British It Girl Gemma Chan on West End

Not only is Chinese British Gemma Chan the only female actor in the London production of Harold Pinter’s cryptic play, The Homecoming, she is also the only Asian. The 1967 play revolves around a family of men during the homecoming of Teddy who has returned from America with his wife. Chan plays Ruth, Teddy’s wife, the enigmatic and ambiguous female presence who stirs up the sexual desires and longings for femininity in the family.
